The Russell County Sheriff’s Department is investigating more than a half-dozen residential burglaries in the Jabez community.
Deputy Lee Smith is heading the investigation and told WJRS NEWS that a total of seven “vacation homes” were broken into late Sunday night, into the early morning hours of Monday….November 27th and 28th in the Gadberry subdivision on Denny Ridge.
The time frame for the burglaries was established through records obtained from South Kentucky R.E.C.C. as power to each home was disabled by the perpetrators.
According to Deputy Smith after the electricity was shut-off, the thieves gained entry into each residence by forcing doors open.
TVs and various household items were stolen from the homes. Anyone with information about these crimes is encouraged to call the Russell County Sheriff’s Department at 343-2191.

That's just wrong. Someone ought to "post-up" inside with the cowards "maker". Doesn't take very big kahones to rob a vacant home...

Re: Vacation Homes Burglarized In Jabez Community
I absolutely hate this crap. Happened to me this passed May, different area of the lake, but still feel their pain. I'm all for a few wildlife-type cameras posted at different angles way up high and camoflouged, locked and secured. If something is missing or messed with, only then do you have to climb to retrieve photos and to change batteries. Signs posted near entrances to property warning of surveillance and some extra large hasps, super locks and neighbors pitching in together to keep an eye out will at least slow them down.....?
Happy camper and happy boater!!
