Lammas Day

Post by RELAX »

Lammas Day August 1st.

After Lammas day "corn ripens as much by night as by day". Lammas Day derives from an ancient English festival, the Gule of August, celebrating the beginning of the harvest(traditionally August 1st.)

The Christan Church converted this pagan festival and started baking loves of bread from the first ripened grain, brought to church to be consecrated and potental to earn some money too. :D
