OSS Race

Post by Pac22 »

11 days out. Ok who is going to be there? I plan on being beached somewhere on the north shore. Hoping to get there sometime Friday late afternoon or early evening. Hope the weather holds. This should be a blast. :ymparty:

Haven't talked to him but I'd be surprised if he didn't make it. The Moons are coming but not sure they are bringing the hb with the debris situation.

Oh no you don't. It looks like we will take the HB out early Friday AM to the south side (best view of WFO).

I'll try to keep in touch. As of now we'll be on the north side as that's the only side they say we can beach. I'm thinking all the good coves on the south will be taken by the time we get there Friday afternoon.

Ok, I just want to see if I have this right...

The south shore you can drive back and fourth on to get from the Grider Area to the rest of the lake but you can not anchor out because of the traffic lane there.

The north shore you can beach on but once you are there you are stuck till the race is done? Right?

That's pretty much it. But, if you park on the north shore, you can leave whenever you want, as long as you don't get into the course.

Well I can't see it being worse than Harmon on a holiday weekend. There are still some who haven't loaded their boat in this yr yet, eh hemhillman. Plus it's a very wide section of the lake. Of course their will be the first yr glitches, but I'm looking forward to this craziness. :D

___ if/when you become a trailer boater again you might be the same way. :p

Especially for this coming weekend. I can't come Saturday and really the only good stuff will be Sunday afternoon and I sure don't see me trailering down just for 3 hours of use.

But if you are beached on the north shore and I get my bike out of the shop in time maybe I will ride it down and just cross over the nose of your beached boat.. LOL

Actually the "good stuff" will be all weekend. This is a first time for this and it all will be exciting if you ask me. But if you get that bike out give us a shout you land lover. :ymdevil:

What he said :p If you think there is only going to be 3 hrs of "good stuff" you have been under a rock. I thought more of you than that :D This is BIG real BIG :D :D

But if it makes you feel better after the fact we can say the good stuff was only 3 hrs. But I'm not going to take a chance on missing out just in case. I may be wrong :-?

I am craziness sweetheart. 8-}

Don't worry I've given Howl a bunch of crap too. He's using all kinds of excuses. Such as, kids in sports, and the fact he already has 2 boats floating (pontoon and houseboat). His first trip of the yr is this weekend so I'll have the chance to rib him in person. :D

Bubbles, I can't to see ya it's been a long time. Make sure you come find us this weekend we can cook for ya or you can take a hot shower or whatever you need. Friend Mike is back from 2 years in FL and now a slip holder at State Dock :ymapplause:
I will definitely try to find ya. I guess I still have your number....unless you have changed? MIne is 5831358 (you know the area code). I've got some chicken marinating and some jalapeno wraps and some other protein foods. (Protein is good for when your drinking....LOL!) Is Mike close to you? Does he still have the cruiser or did he also buy a HB? Oh heck.....I guess I'll find all this out this weekend...LOL!
I've got to get to bed.....it's gonna be a long weekend. Can't wait to see everyone!

Had a great time Saturday wathing the boats run. There didn't seem to be a whole lot of "racing" going on. Looked more like time trials all day. But still very cool. We ended up cruising in for the State Dock party and didn't make it back out Sunday due to the gail force winds and the 50 degree temps. All in all it was fun, but the poker run is much cooler IMO :)

My thoughts exactly. But it was great hanging out with yall....as usual! What time did yall leave Sunday? We came looking for ya after we ate breakfast at Jamestown. As for the party....I TRIED to make it there. Just didn't make it any further than the end of the dock! =))

Marina/Ramp: Currently mostly out of Jamestown but spend a lot of time at the other Marinas.

Pre2012-Conley Bottom Mostly, Waitsboro, Alligator I&II ramps, Leesford, Pulaski County Park (when it has water), Grider, State Dock (via boat), and Jamestown are a few places you might find me.

It was absolutely packed at State Dock for the party. Good times

We pulled the houseboat out about 10:30 Sunday and went back to Cave Springs. The wind was just too much to try to head back out to the course. I hear it was a bitch out there. We had a lot of cleaning to do as there were so many people coming and going at Club Just Chillin. :ymapplause: But it was worth it, as usual. :D

I got some from the same place that I will have up today. Like most of you said the Poker Run is much more exciting but if this event grows over the next few years I can see it being just as big. Way too much dead time. Maybe I should not have left the dock at 7AM on Friday :D Just had to have a good spot. But all in all it was a good time.
