Prayers PLEASE!

Post by MissSwitzerland »

After spending a wonderful day on the lake Saturday, we got a phone call that our oldest son,Eric, was in the hospital after wrecking his 4-wheeler. We drove home Saturday night, in record time, and spent the entire day Sunday trying to get him transferred from a podunk hospital in Indiana that I wouldn't send my dog to, to a hospital close to home. He broke his leg in two places and is in surgery right now. He's diabetic, so the doctors are more worried about infection than his broken bones. Hopefully he'll be able to come home tomorrow.

On the way home Saturday night, my sister called to tell me that nephew, who is 33, was in ICU in Chillicothe. He has now been diagnosed with lung cancer. They also found cancer in his lymph nodes and he has bloody fluid around his heart, which they say is a direct result of the cancer. I don't know at this point what stage he's in.

PLEASE keep both Eric and Chris in your prayers. And pray that I keep my sanity through all of this!

Thanks. Eric is still in the hospital. They can't get his pain under control. He said he's in more pain then before the surgery. The therapist is supposed to be going in to see what's up.

Chris' cancer is in both lungs. He also has pneumonia so they have to get that cleared up before they can start any chemo.

It's going to be a long road to recovery for both of them.

Eric is home and is doing okay. He's working in the front office until he can get back to painting (4 months). He'll hate the office by then!! LOL!! Until then, Dave is our new painter! :-o

Chris starts chemo on Thursday. He'll go every three weeks. He's determined that it's not going to get him down. He says he's only 33 and has alot of life to live. He cut his pony tail off and donated it to Locks of Love and joked that maybe he'd get it back in a wig!! So if he can keep up this outlook, I think he'll do okay. The doctors have told him that they can't "cure" him, but that they can put him in remission and maintain it so that it doesn't go anywhere else or get any worse.

I will certainly pray for your son's complete recovery and peace for you and your family as you go through this. Will also put your son on a prayer list a friend runs. Take care and hang in there.

Okay, the pitty party for Eric has run it's course!! LOL!! It's been almost three weeks now and you would think he broke every bone in his body AND that he's the only person in the world that has ever broken anything!! He goes to the doctor tomorrow so we're hoping they tell him to get off his butt and start doing something productive! And we really hope they take the Percucet's away from him! They are just a crutch now!

Lord, give me patience!!! O:-)

I hear ya drill sergeant =)) =))

Dam I broke a finger and it was out of commision for 6 weeks. Can't imagine breaking a leg to the extent it required surgery. What do you expect, he run a marathon? :D

I'm the exact opposite. When I'm sick/injured, I just want to be left the hell alone. And since my wife is a nurse, she just doesn't understand that.
