F & W Officer Files Defamation Lawsuit Against Three Individuals, State Dock

A Russell county law enforcement official has filed a civil lawsuit against the State Dock Marina, its manager, Bill Jasper, and two Russell County residents alleging those parties defamed him and engaged in a conspiracy to have him fired.

Wayne Wilson, a Conservation Officer with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife states in his lawsuit that Russell County resident David Harris, and his daughter, Toni Withers, engaged in a scheme to defame him and attempted to cause him to lose his job with the Fish and Wildlife Department.

Wilson claims the actions of Harris and Withers began after he had earlier cited a juvenile member of their family on different criminal offenses.

Wilson makes similar allegations against Bill Jasper and State Dock Marina, claiming Jasper met with government officials and others in an effort to get Wilson fired after Wilson arrested a person he claims was friends with Jasper.

In addition to claiming defamation, Wilson also alleges State Dock Marina was negligent in hiring and/or supervising Jasper.

Wilson is seeking an unspecified amount of damages from the defendants.

Fishing boat... and was a bit farther than 50', but it was from the dock to the shore and was very close. Know all the individuals very well.
