Man Dies At Lake Cumberland

A man has died at Lake Cumberland Sunday afternoon after being electrocuted.

The Pulaski County deputy coroner says the victim is 34-year-old Kevin Short of Lily.

Rescue crews tell LEX 18 Short was at a private dock at a relatives house when the accident happened. The victim was apparently on an aluminum ladder when an extension cord attached to a security light became entangled in the ladder.

Short's family says one of his children and wife were with him at the dock, and both felt the shock as well. They also say Short saved his son's life, by lifting him up over the ladder onto the dock as Short was being electrocuted. Both his wife and son are expected to be OK.

Kevin leaves behind a wife and 3 children.

So sad. When will people quit thinking "it won't happen to me" and quit short-cutting dangerous procedures. This sounds like a repair job gone all wrong to me. Feel horrible for the wife/mother. I am sure many thoughts were clouding her judgement at the time. Sympathies to all. :(
