Need Electrical Help.

Long story (feel free to skip this paragraph)
Saturday night as I was going to bed even though the fireplace was doing its job it seemed extra warm like the radiant heat in my living room was on. I figured it was maybe where I had the front door open for a while but still turned it down from 65 to 50 to make sure it was not on...
Sunday morning when I got up I went through the living room to open the dining room window blinds and notice the heat was really forcing down and soaking into me like standing in the sun. I turned the thermostat to off and came back 5 minutes later and it was the same. I flipped it back and forth and did not hear it click. I went and looked at the meter and it was spinning like it should not be when the wood stove already has the house to 74 degrees. I went through the house and turned off all the thermostats but it was still spinning faster than it should. I then turned off the breaker for the living room radiant heat and the meter went to a crawl so slow you could barely see it moving. Since then I have left it off and ordered a LUX digital programmable thermostat that can handle single or dual pole setups and is supposed to support radiant heat systems.

Short story
Today my new thermostats arrived and I took the old thermostat out and saw that I had 4 wires. I opened the new thermostat and it had 4 wires as well. When I looked to start matching up wires and or numbers I noticed I had a black and a red and two red. (HMMMMMM) I looked at the instructions and they say I should have a red and black and a red and black.

Does anyone that knows electric better than me have any clue on this one? I am good with normal wiring but when there is a curveball like this it REALLY throws me off. If this is something simple that you can just tell me something like. "Oh I see what is going on... You just need to connect the old 1 to the new L1 red and then old 2 to the new L2 red. and then the old L3 to the new L1 black and the old L4 to the new L2 black." or something like that then I'll give it a try...

Otherwise I guess I have to work to schedule an electrician which is a PITA. lol

With matching assumptions from Waterboy on Facebook and a co-worker in Facility Engineering who took a look at this thread I got it wired up and working...

Makes me want to do the rest of them as some rooms REALLY don't need to be kept near as warm all week as others. Some could drop off during the day when no one is home and would only need to kick on for a few hours a night.
(if the wood heat was not doing its job at the moment) Right now none are kicked on and the house is 72.3 lol That room in particular was 74 #:-s .

Did the rest of the house back this Feb and it was a good upgrade to a late 70's home.

..now if I could just convince Julie to move to the farm and build a new one.
