My understanding is that all of the coins have the inscription on the edge (with the exception of an initial run of coins in 2007 that were not stamped with the inscription).

At the VA in Louisville the bill changer only spits out dollar coins. Me and a local store owner butted heads over her refusal to accept them for my next purchase. My speech about "legal tender" fell on deaf ears.

I will have no choice but to take them, but hey, it will go from my tip jar to the cash register for bills. Now that I think about it, after you've had a few at the bar, you might be more likely to leave a fatter tip unknowingly thinking it's just extra coin under those bills when I place your change on the tray...hmmmm.....
