Judge rules man doesn't have right to bark at police dog

Post by DMS »

All I can say is d@mn :-o

A man could have to stand trial for barking at a police dog.

Ryan Stephens, 25, is charged with teasing a police dog. Police say Stephens barked and hissed at the dog at the scene of a car crash in Mason, Ohio in April.

Friday a judge denied Stephens' request to drop the charge. He claims he was exercising freedom of speech.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the judge ruled Stephens did not have a constitutional right to bark at the dog.

Police dogs enjoy a lot of legal protections. Some may sound silly on the surface, but they have a good rational behind them.

Barking at a dog should not be one though when those dogs should be better trained than that. Heck I have our dog trained to ignore other people barking, whistling, etc. at him.

This is exactly what I was thinking when reading the story... If the dog was that easily distracted, it should not be a cop dog.... way too much at stake if the dog can't be controlled. J/S =; :|
