Most remember where they were during 9/11
(RNN) - Where were you that September day?
Depending on the event, tragedy and triumph can incite a wide range of emotions - especially a day like 9/11, when our nation was attacked by a group of al-Qaeda terrorists.
The 9/11 attacks were the worst acts of international terrorism on American soil since Pearl Harbor. It was one of those instances where time stood frozen, and nothing mattered except what was happening on the news.
A study conducted by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press showed that of 1,500 people polled, an overwhelming 95 percent remembered where they were and what they were doing when the news of the attacks reached them.
Many people were only a few hours into their work day when the first plane crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center, and by the time they could get to a television, it was just in time to witness the second plane crash.

I have a large detached garage behind my house, the radio is always on in there and I had opened the door to go get in my truck when they announced the first plane had hit the World Trade Center. I went back in the house and turned on the TV and watched the second one hit the buildings. I sat there the rest of the day glued to the TV. I have always flown an American Flag on my garage but at lunch time I went and got a brand new one. Screw them Bastards..... I will install another new flag on Thursday before I go to the Poker Run.

I too was at home, getting ready for work when they showed the 1st tower vids over and over and then seen the second one going in while the first one was still being taped... was so dumbfounded I could not move from my chair to go to work for hours... just chilling.

I remember just getting back from taking my son to school that day, such a beautiful day too, and my SIL calling up and telling me to turn on the TV. We talked on the phone about it and thinking at first it was an accident, then the we saw the second plane enter and knew something huge was going on in our Country.

Played hookey from work, watching Fox news network. Went and got Shooter711 out at barn. Took my dads folded flag and put it on flagpole, lock and loaded every weapon everywhere. Aint never seen the sky that blue.

We were on the boat at Grider. It was such a nice day that we ate breakfast on the aft deck and didn't have the TV on that morning. We had loaded the SeaDoos the day before to take into Leon Denney's for 10 hour check and didn't know about it until we got there. Sickening....

A friend called me and told me to turn on the TV. I called my Father who was home alone because my Mother was on a bus trip to Nova Scotia (where she was stuck for several days until the borders were reopened) and told him to turn on the news, he was watching something on cable. I called him later in the day and he was short with me because he wanted to get back to the coverage. Like everyone else, I was glued to the TV all day. Viewing the footage still has a huge impact on me all these years later.
Some days I'm the baby, some days I'm the diaper........

I can't believe the lack of TV coverage on the major networks about it today. People are already forgetting. In about 5 years there will be a generation that will pretty much think it was a myth.

...Wife and I are still glued to the History Channel reliving how horrible those moments that morning were. Renews my vigor to love my country and hope to do whatever I can to strengthen it.
