If you think buying American does not work look at the 1940s and 50s economies. The only reason it would be sky high at first is because we have bought stuff from other countries so long facilities would have to be built and tooled. Buyingt the cheapest has 90% of the time never been the best we all know that. If you beleive in that start buying your clothes at Wal-mart. Yep, didn't think so. I believe in buying American whenever possible. I never was a fan of total isolationism which is the way the writer took the article to push their agenda. Sure certain things are good to come from other places. But buy items made here when you can. there used to be a time when made in China meant you had some piece of fine furniture or dinnerware. Now it means junky crap that might contain traces of harmful metals that could cause birth defects or make children sick. ...and he is wrong about stripping the walls bare and not having anything. ABC's story proved that you can furnish a house iwth made in the USA and even at times SAVE money. Yes there are US made TVs and computers. Luckily for me I hate MAC products so that is not a loss... lol
