Same governor was on the news just the other evening jumping on the band wagon with Jessee Jackson and our President Elect to give Citigroup bank a hard time over not loaning a bankrupt company more money so they could pay their former employees. The former employees did not get paid severance or final vacation pay that was due them. He was just Ohhh so sympathetic with the workers. Rrrrrright!
I do feel bad for the workers, none of this was their fault, but on the one hand Citibank should not have to lend money to a bankrupt company. Bad loans is why they had to be bailed out in the first place.

This governor pulled all of the IL state money out of Citi Bank to put the hurt on them. Wonder where he eventually put it? Not in his pocket I hope.

Hopefully... this is not the first of many great things to come out of IL in the days ahead.

I think everyone understands my displeasue of the government, there are 70,000 lobiest in Washington DC, everyone of them with a paper bag full of cash and in need of a vote on some piece of legislation/government contract. Until we wise up to this process of government, then there will be nothing done on time, under budget, or correctly because all government contracts are being bought with this bag of cash in the back seats of DC limos. The big three auto makers came to town last week begging for cash, after spreading around 50 million in campaign contributions this year. hmmmmmmmmmmm.

I'm not sure about here either, but I would assume that even being part of that family would give her some background to work with that a lot of other wouldn't have. I am not sure all of that background is a good thing but at least it would be some working knowledge.
As far as personality, she could at least borrow a little of that before attempting this.

I think she is plenty qualified. Can you only imagine how much politics this girl has had throughout her life? I'd rather have someone that knows the "system" a little (even the bad parts) than a total "cherry".

OK, lets look at a little background. made a fortune selling booze off shore (illegal). A young lady lost her life crossing a bridge with them. That right there is some good background. I could take some time and help her with her resume, I'll take the cherry, one that has not learned the corrupt system yet.

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the
Governor's Mansion in Springfield, Illinois; one from Chicago,
another from Tennessee and a third from Kentucky. They all
go to examine the fence.

The Tennessee contractor takes out a tape measure and does
some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well",
he says, "I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials,
$400 for my crew and $100 profit for me."
The Kentucky contractor also does some measuring and
figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials,
$300 for my crew and $100 profit for me."
The Chicago contractor doesn't measure or figure,
but leans
over to the Governor's staffer and whispers, "$2,700". "Incredulous",
the staffer whispers back, "You didn't even measure like the
other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?"
The Chicago contractor whispers back, "$1000 for me, $1000
for you, and we hire that guy from Kentucky to fix the fence."
"Done deal!" the Governor's staffer replies.
And that my friends, is how it all works in Illinois politics ! !
