2010 Census
What is everyone's thoughts on the 2010 Census? Just curious. Some how the requesting??? of certain items such as names in household, phone number, who owns their home just rub me the wrong way. Also if they have to send a live census taker, gps coordinates are recorded. Not that multiple sections of government already know more about me that I do. Paranoid thoughts enter my mind.

It was not as personal as I thought it might be. I filled it all in except my phone# and birthday.

At first I thought the same thing. But I just did the same thing as Whitenights and mailed it in. As you said, not that they can't find me, but I'm moving in 2 weeks.

The statement that burns my a$$ is....
You must send in your census as this will determine how much money will be alloted to your city for assistance programs!! I found out our State Rep gave all of the State Employees a "BONUS" last year because it did not put him over his "alloted budget" for the year!
I say you don't give them an "alloted budget", let them turn in receipts for what they are spending. Give them an "approved" list of expenditures, not on there, "TS" or buy it yourself!

Re: 2010 Census
haven't looked at my census form yet but...
I’m told fully one-quarter of the space on this year’s census form is taken up with questions of race and ethnicity, which are clearly illegitimate and none of the government’s business (despite The New York Times’ assurances to the contrary in an editorial on March 7). So until we succeed in building the needed wall of separation between race and state, here’s a proposal: Question 9 on the census form asks “What is Person 1’s race?” (and so on, for other members of the household). One’s initial impulse might be simply to misidentify his/her race so as to throw a monkey wrench into the statistics. One wag mentioned having had fun doing this on the personal information from his college required every semester; a Puerto Rican Muslim one semester, and a Samoan Buddhist the next. But lying in this constitutionally mandated process is wrong. Really — don’t do it.
Instead, we should answer Question 9 by checking the last option — “Some other race” — and writing in “American.” It’s a truthful answer but at the same time is a way for ordinary citizens to express their rejection of unconstitutional racial classification schemes. In fact, “American” was reportedly the plurality ancestry selection for respondents to the 2000 census in four states and several hundred counties.
So remember: Question 9 — “Some other race” — “American”. Pass it on.
I believe I am going to put my answer as.....American-American!!!

I don't know what it looked like, The wifey filled it out and sent it on its way before I saw it.
Buy American, the job you save just might be your own.

Haven't heard the "tally" word since I was a kid. I guess I'm showing my age.
