A new puppy
This little (young but big) guy showed up at my office Monday. No ID, a little dirty, and as nice as can be. He's already 30 pounds and we're guessing about 3-4 months old. He has paws the size of my fist.
I can't find his owner so I'm going to give it another week or so before I claim him. He's gone home with me every night and to the office every day. I've never in my life seen such a well behaved dog this young.
I gave him a bath Monday evening and have yet to need a leash. He goes outside, runs around, does his business then comes right back. He's even getting along with our dog that weighs 1/6 his weight.
Pic are from my phone so the quality isn't very good.

Re: A new puppy
I have a feeling he's going to be huge. It's a good thing he's been so obedient already.
Land mines. OH YEAH, throwing ball in the back yard with the kids will be down right scary come spring time.

AWWW cute lil guy. That's awesome you are willing to take him in.
Our 6month old Labradoodle is already pushing 50lbs. She too is one of the most well behaved pups I've ever seen. Yes, I know all about those land mines.

I'm going to take him to the vet next week to get him checked and any shots he may need since we have no idea which shots he may or may not of had.

Cute puppy Faster. Keep an eye on your wifes dog, this one may mistake it for kibble one of these days!
Good for you taking care of him!

Re: A new puppy
Well, I took him to the vet yesterday to get all of his shots since we have no idea what he's had or not had. He had no rabies tag when he showed up.
Little guy weighed in at 36.4 pounds and the vet said he isn't quite 4 months old but went ahead and called him 4 months on the paperwork. It looks like this guy will be about 80 pounds when he's full grown. The vet said she's very sure of his breed, lab and golden mix. I'd been holding out on finding an Alaskan Malamute but I sure am glad this little guy found me. I'll keep looking for an owner but I have a feeling he's not going anywhere. I've called all the vets in town to see if anyone has reported him missing. None yet.

Wow!! You couldn't ask for a better mix of breeds! You are going to have a great dog!
Re: A new puppy
Awww...he looks like such a great dog! The only thing I see wrong with him is that he likes you!

Re: A new puppy
Thanks, Lisa. I named him Miller. I've trained him to go to RE3's house and poop in her yard. He's a tad tired when he gets home but at least her yard will be well fertilized when she returns.selfmedicated wrote:Awww so sweet! Congrats on the addition!

Re: A new puppy
I was going to guess lab/retriever mix. He looks just like our dog (same mix), who was the runt of the litter and now weighs in at 120 lbs. He is probably the best dog we've ever had. Very easy to train and extremely loveable! We have to get him shaved every summer because he has such thick long hair. You'll love having this one around!!!

Re: A new puppy
Thanks alot, Darla! Now you have our other dog scared.
It looks like we're going to let him stick around. No one has claimed him and I've contacted all the vets in town and no one is missing him. People tend to drop dogs off around our plant. I guess they know some dog loving suckers work there.
He made it over to RE3's again today for his daily poop run. Next, I'm going to show him where rockinrod lives.

I think takin' him to Rod's is a fantastic idea! He looks like a high falutin' pup to me and Rod lives in a much better neighborhood than I! Go for it! Please send pics of Rod's reaction!FasterThanYou wrote:
