Socialism here we come....

Post by shocka43 »

"The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start."

Taken from http://www.change.gov under the America Serves tab. Since when is it the governments job to determine how I raise my kid by requiring my kid to do something that I should determine by choice? Lovely isn't it. It is great that Barack has decided that our kids will now serve in the community whether we, as parents, want them to or not. Look closely at the language and notice it doesn't say anything about a choice it just says, "by developing a plan to REQUIRE......" I would like to thank all of you who voted for him, I am glad he is here to tell me how to raise my kid. I don't know what is going to stop him from coming after you next. By the way, I can hear those of you who voted for him saying it is not true, that is why I included the link. It is from his own website.

To quote a great movie Big Daddy, "But I wipe my own a$$." Soon they will make sure you go front to back.

I am all for serving your community, as I do things by my own choice in order to make where I live and work a better place. It apparently was a free country and now they want to tell us how we need to serve our locales. I will be damned if the government is going to tell me how I will serve my country and community. Get ready.

Wait, we all have to give 50 to 100 hours of community service for schools? Who has that time, heck I even missed the lake a lot this year and it is something I like doing.

Did I read that right? Please tell me I did not.

He wants to require students in middle and high school, along with college to to do community service by mandated community service programs.

He wants to start with the youngsters and then "encourage" those retired to serve as well. Like I said before, I have no problem with someone willingly serving. But the government "requiring" it is absurd. Just wait until the ones that want handouts, find out that he is going to make them do things they don't want to do. How sad will it be when the government says to a student, "You won't graduate until you put forth XXXX amount of hours towards the soup kitchen." This is only the beginning.

Now it gets better.....The website has been changed since the copy and paste yesterday. Boy I would have loved to have saved a screen shot. The nObama people must listen to the talking heads, because that's the only place this was at yesterday, talk radio. Here is the revised edition. Thanks for voting this person into office. This is what we are going to deal with. This fumble f is going to be tripping all over himself for the entire term. Changes highlighted.

Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by setting a goal that all middle school and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year and by developing a plan so that all college students who conduct 100 hours of community service receive a universal and fully refundable tax credit ensuring that the first $4,000 of their college education is completely free. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start."

So....it went from requiring the community service to know if you do it your first 4,000K of your college is paid for. This guy is special. Someone have a spare helmet to mail to DC?

Understanding Obama: The Making of a Fuehrer By Ali Sina

I must confess I was not impressed by Sen. Barack Obama from the first time I saw him. At first I was excited to see a black candidate. He looked youthful, spoke well, appeared to be confident - a wholesome presidential package. I was put off soon, not just because of his shallowness but also because there was an air of haughtiness in his demeanor that was unsettling. His posture and his body language were louder than his empty words. Obama's speeches are unlike any political speech we have heard in American history. Never a politician in this land had such a quasi 'religious' impact on so many people. The fact that Obama is a total incognito with zero accomplishment, makes this inexplicable infatuation alarming. Obama is not an ordinary man. He is not a genius. In fact he is quite ignorant on most important subjects.

Barack Obama is a narcissist. Dr. Sam Vaknin, the author of the Malignant Self Love, also believes, 'Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist.'

Vaknin is a world authority on narcissism. He understands narcissism and describes the inner mind of a narcissist like no other person. When he talks about narcissism everyone listens.

Vaknin says that Obama's language, posture and demeanor, and the testimonies of his closest, dearest and nearest suggest that the Senator is either a narcissist or he may have narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).

Narcissists project a grandiose but false image of themselves. Jim Jones, the charismatic leader of People's Temple, the man who led over 900 of his followers to cheerfully commit mass suicide and even murder their own children was also a narcissist. David Koresh, Charles Manson, Joseph Koni, Shoko Asahara, Stalin, Saddam, Mao, Kim Jong Ill and Adolph Hitler are a few examples of narcissists of our time. All these men had a tremendous influence over their fanciers. They created a personality cult around themselves and with their blazing speeches, elevated their admirers' souls, filled their hearts with enthusiasm and instilled in their minds a new zest for life. They gave them hope! They promised them the moon, but alas, invariably they brought them to their doom. When you are a victim of a cult of personality, you don't know it until it is too late.

One determining factor in the development of NPD is childhood abuse. 'Obama's early life was decidedly chaotic and replete with traumatic and mentally bruising dislocations,' says Vaknin. 'Mixed-race marriages were even less common then. His parents went through a divorce when he was an infant (two years old). Obama saw his father only once again, before he died in a car accident. Then, his mother re-married and Obama had to relocate to Indonesia : a foreign land with a radically foreign culture, to be raised by a step-father. At the age of ten, he was whisked off to live with his maternal (white) grandparents. He saw his mother only intermittently in the following few years and then she vanished from his life in 1979. She died of cancer in 1995.'

One must never underestimate the manipulative genius of pathological narcissists. They project such an imposing personality that it overwhelms those around them. Charmed by the charisma of the narcissist, people become like clay in his hands. They cheerfully do his bidding and delight to be at his service. The narcissist shapes the world around himself and reduces others in his own inverted image. He creates a cult of personality. His admirers become his co-dependents.

Narcissists have no interest in things that do not help them to reach their personal objective. They are focused on one thing alone and that is power.
All other issues are meaningless to them and they do not want to waste their precious time on trivialities.

Anything that does not help them is beneath them and do not deserve their attention. If an issue raised in the Senate does not help Obama in one way or another, he has no interest in it. The 'present' vote is a safe vote. No one can criticize him if things go wrong.
Why should he implicate himself in issues that may become controversial when they don't help him personally? Those issues are unworthy by their very nature because they are not about him.

Obama's election as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review led to a contract and advance to write a book about race relations. The University of Chicago Law School provided him with a fellowship and an office to work on his book. The book took him a lot longer than expected and at the end it devolved into., guess what? His own autobiography! Instead of writing a scholarly paper focusing on race relations, for which, he had been paid, Obama could not resist writing about his most sublime self. He entitled the book Dreams from My Father.

Not surprisingly, Adolph Hitler also wrote his own autobiography when he was still nobody. So did Stalin.

For a narcissist no subject is as important as his own self. Why would he waste his precious time and genius writing about insignificant things when he can write about such an august being as himself?

Narcissists are often callous and even ruthless. As the norm, they lack conscience. This is evident from Obama's lack of interest in his own brother who lives on only one dollar per month. A man who lives in luxury, who takes a private jet to vacation in Hawaii, and who has raised nearly half a billion dollars for his campaign (something unprecedented in history) has no interest in the plight of his own brother. Why? Because, his brother cannot be used for his ascent to power. A narcissist cares for no one but himself.

This election is like no other in the history of America . The issues are insignificant compared to what is at stake. What can be more dangerous than having a man bereft of conscience, a serial liar, and one who cannot distinguish his fantasies from reality as the leader of the free world?

I hate to sound alarmist, but one must be a fool if one is not alarmed.

Many politicians are narcissists. They pose no threat to others.. They are simply self serving and selfish. Obama evinces symptoms of pathological narcissism, which is different from the run-of-the-mill narcissism of a Richard Nixon or a Bill Clinton, for example. To him reality and fantasy are intertwined. This is a mental health issue, not just a character flaw.

Pathological narcissists are dangerous because they look normal and even intelligent. It is this disguise that makes them treacherous.

Today the Democrats have placed all their hopes in Obama. But this man could put an end to their party. The great majority of blacks have also decided to vote for Obama. Only a fool does not know that their support for him is racially driven.

Let us call a spade a spade. This is racism, pure and simple. The truth is that while everyone carries a misconceived collective guilt towards the blacks for wrongs done centuries ago by a bygone people to a bygone people, the blacks carry a collective rancor, enmity or vendetta towards non-blacks and to this day want to 'stand up' to the white man. They seem to be stuck in 19th century.

The downside of this is that if Obama turns out to be the disaster I predict, he will cause widespread resentment among the whites. The blacks are unlikely to give up their support of their man. Cultic mentality is pernicious and unrelenting. They will dig their heads deeper in the sand and blame Obama's detractors of racism. This will cause a backlash among the whites. The white supremacists will take advantage of the discontent and they will receive widespread support. I predict that in less than four years, racial tensions will increase to levels never seen since the turbulent 1960s. Obama will set the clock back decades.

I guess its time to start talking about how the previous crack pipe of a president was an imperialist and wanted to bring back imperialism. He did a pretty good job of that, all the while ignoring things like our own economy for starters. We can all cut and paste all day.

I was paying my bills and my investments were doing great until Democrat based legislation, forcing banks to lend to incompetent recipients, caused the crisis we are in.

But legislation based off the CRA caused my 457's and my IRA's to take a dive. That wasn't Bush's fault. Thanks Jimmy, Bill, and the failures of Frank, my pal that said everything was just fine.

I felt like our country was very safe.

Thats all the government owes us. That we have a safe environment to prosper and put the infrastructure in place for that to happen. (roads, water, sewer, utilities, etc...)

Now everyone says, "Hey government, fix us." If the people hadn't given the opportunity for the government to f everything all up, we wouldn't be in this mess. Voting nObama into office hardly puts the control of the country back into the PEOPLE's hands, we just put it in the GOVERNMENTS hands. They would f up a wet dream.

Thats so true and he is a DUMB@$$ for it. But you have to admit things did spiral down more when the control shifted in the house and senate. Not saying it is still not Bush's fault for letting it happen but I like to blame all of them fookers in office.

Dj,

I didn't care for Bush as he spent like a Dem. I have said time and time again, I am a conservative, not a republican, because Bush F'ed it up for us.

I am better off than I was 8 years ago. Do I think we needed a "change" as a leader. Yes, but just because you want a change, doesn't mean you give up on the principles that your party is SUPPOSED to stand for.

I am a Ford guy....I buy one bad model ford, that has bad ratings all across the board, and I have problems with it. I don't jump to Chevy because of this, I try another model. We'll see what happens, but this election has just put us from one extreme to another.

I fault Bush for many things. But you don't blame one man for legislation that put us in this situation that wasn't created by him. Libs can hide behind the "It's Bush's fault" for as long as they would like. The economic downturn was caused by a failed housing market and subprime lending. I challenge you to tell me that Bush had anything to do with this housing crisis.

Ask yourself....Are you safer in your Country than you were in say...2001? YES.

How did your investments do for 7.5 years of his presidency? Just effin fine until dems got control and then the housing market fell. My investments and my previously overinflated home value are the only things that fell in the last 8. None of which were his fault. Let's see how nObama handles this. Let's start with your paycheck.

Anyone on here that has a job, has a health care plan, invests in 401 k's, 457's, or Roth's, and pays their bills....probably would have done just fine with Bush in office until the meltdown. People that need the government to survive were the ones that were just getting by and not progressing like those that don't live off the government.

Just because we didn't like and don't like Bush 100%, doesn't mean that this whole idea of "change" is needed. Change isn't always good. If our country keeps swinging from somewhere on the right, to way left, every 4 to 8 years, we are in trouble, and will not progress as a nation. We aren't swinging from moderate repub to moderate dem anymore. There wasn't much distance between those two, which made some upset, but most all were "comfortable". nObama says he wants change and that he is going to be a moderate. He has already swayed away from that considering is appointed Chief of Staff is way left and everyone else mentioned came from the Clinton administration. That isn't change, that is the same d@mn thing that Clinton had. Steps forward, steps backwards.

I will not say that Bush didn't make mistakes. But the hard times that came, weren't because of anything that he did, it was because of too much prior government intervention to loan money, then no government intervention to regulate the piss poor policy.

I will probably say we are safer than 2001, which Bush was in office then as well, but I will not say we are completly safer. Here's why. Bush has made more enemies for us than me age can remember. I traveled during the beginning of his term overseas very often, although most people abroad laughed at our politics, they cherished the US as the world power and main influence for Liberty and Freedom. You can't even imagine how much this has changed, as in what I call Bush's empire. Most of the world hates us, where they didn't before, and honestly they really don't respect our authority, as if we should have the say so around the world anyway.

With that comes the unstopable variable of time and technology. Not too mention, our borders are pretty much open to the South. Something he actually refuses to address. And I seriously doubt McCain would have either being from Arizona. One of the few reasons I couldn't vote for him. Terrosist are going to exist everywhere. They exist here already in our country. Some of them, are American's like Timothy McVay (sp?). Some of them our children in our schools. Safety is primarily a measure for each own person. I feel safe, but I always feel pretty safe. I wouldn't travel around the world if I didn't. And not to ruffle any feathers on here, but all of this without a gun. I am TOTALLY not against gun rights, I think that should never be taken away from people, and I am pretty sure it NEVER will. I agree guns shouldn't be in certain areas, Federal building, Fed Parks, School/Libraries, things like that.

I am more worried of digital terror than anything. TO take away our means of banking communicating would be detremental to this country. It can happen, hopefully it never weill.

Your a Ford guy, thats awesome, I am a GM guy. I have had som bad ones, but mostly good ones. I have also bought a Lexus as a second car for a while. Noting that its quality is pretty d@mn good. I still would probably rather have my American (actually 50% Canadian) made SUV. The good thing about Ford is they finally wized up and brought their designs the had in Europe over to America. The Focus, Taurus, and Fusion have that European design to them, and they look sharp now.

I absolutely know Bush isn't soley responsible for this economic downturn. The lending practices of banks in the not so distant past has a lot to do with it. Now, who do you think was prospering when people could afford their mortgage and where adding on to homes, high up executives and people "termed" to be conservatives. What do you think was the main reason for this downturn in the economy. Fuel!! Bottom line. People can't stop all they have to do with fuel, and other things get pushed back. Everything from Gorceries to grass seed goes up because of fuel. Now that fuel is under control, why haven't things subsided. Because companies that lost when fuel went so hi, are trying to get it back by not adjusting their prices and fuel surcharges according to the very recent drop of fuel. Thats Greed, simple as that. If they dropped their prices back to where they should be before fuel went ape chit, people would buy more, and jobs would be needed for more manufacturing. I know you could say it sounds simple, but honestly it is that simple.

Speaking of 401K's, mine is chit now. Well its there but I don't know how long it will take to get back to where it was.

Dems barely had control of the Senate, and if you look at the 2 year span of that, you'll see many things didn't get through. Except our 87Billon a year to Iraq. Where is the payback in oil from that?? Oh I know Bush and Cheaney's companies. To be honest, I made my most money and there where more jobs when Clinton was in office. I can give him credit for that, but it takes all three pieces. The president does send a budget to the House and Senate. The president can control how much money the government spends. Bush spent more money than any president ever has, and our debt is higher than its even concievable. That I do fault him for. He has control over that, he made those choices. His administration has allowed the inflated Euro to dwarf our currency. His appointment of Paulson and other friends of his, where really not in the best interest of our counrty. but we will move forward. The main reason I don't like Bush, not withstanding the ones above, is he makes our country look stupid, because he is about the Worst speaker I have ever seen. Its clear Daddy bought his eductaion. He is an embaressment to us when he takes the podium anywhere.

If Obama is smart, and I believe him to be very smart, but I do feel inexperienced, he'll bring the likes of the Clinton Aides, and maybe even President Clinton himself to send a budget that will be balanced and fair.

Its so easy to blow things out of porportion because of a change in government. He's not going to take away your guns, he's not going to start national helathcare (just wont work, although medicare could use a face lift bigtime), he's not going to take a huge chunk of my paycheck. If he does what I think he can do, and create jobs, it will take care of itself. If he gets rid of the greedy bastardz running these companies still over charging teh American people, more jobs will be made as manufacturing will have to catch up with need.

Thats my two cents, which compared to the Euro aint worth chit!!

I agree DJ, just who in the hell died and made "America" the king of all countries??? Who first said we should be able to "demand" that other countries rule as we think they should? No wonder we have enemies... I think it's HIGH TIME other countries learn to deal with their problems, or seek help elsewhere, we're always their first, wanted or not...

I also agree the whole financial situation is due to fuel costs. Just too big of a problem for this lil'ol country to sustain over a long period of time. I won't even go into the "bail-outs", think you can figure out where I stand on that... 8-|

Fuel costs adjust based on economy, not the other way around. Our economy went to crap, then fuel prices went up because of foreign investments that didn't include the US. The bottom fell out of the market not based on fuel prices, but the bailout situation based on the threats that credit was going to dry up, therefore the money was pulled. Fuel prices didn't drive our market down. Our inability to be self sufficient on foreign oil did. OPEC countries know they have us by the balls. We are at the mercy of foreign countries because we have let this be the case. That dependency caused oil problems. The housing market and potential credit freezes ramped this up exponentially when foreign investors said F the US.

The reason fuel was so high, had to do with the world market, not ours. The fuel spike was caused when China and the others invested in markets outside the US, and since our green friends have decided that oil isn't our game, that money went to the desert. If that was the case, the high fuel prices would have had an effect on consumption, which would have slowed down commerce. We were still using high amounts of fuel, and we still are today at 1.89.

We will all agree that it is a revolving door. Bush may propose a budget, but Congress approves it. He spent like a dem, thats why my care for him dropped. The facts of why we are in the mess we are in are all over the place. I find it timely that the bottom fell out in the last two years.

He (Bush) may not be the best public speaker....But I can see right through the car salesman BS that oBama sputters. I would rather have a southern drawl with a little public speaking confusion, than a robot reading off a teleprompter that says all the right phrases with not much substance.
