I'm usually looking for orange spots in the woods this time of year. Turkey season is normally when I REALLY have trouble finding people.Denmark- wrote:I saw you Saturday morning 911...but you didnt see me. Man that Realtree camo really works

Awwwwwwwwwwwww Denmark was not wearing this orange???? Bussssssssssted!!! lol
I really do wish that once you are in your stand that you could take off the orange. Walking around however I would not want to be without it.

We saw a few bucks this weekend and man they looked skinny. Is the over population that bad, or is Richard Simmons working with these dear?
Will they ever have a restricted over-population hunt in the Lake area?

Same here. Got one several yrs ago. Then almost got another this past Sunday. Had to be just inches from his nose. I say let the hunters get unlimited numbers. The population is out of hand.
Re: Welcome kdfwr911
I haven't heard of a monster being killed in Russell CO. That doesn't mean it isn't true though.Denmark- wrote:911.. we heard a rumor of a monster buck being killed near the river. True?
Re: Welcome kdfwr911
I think the deer population is down in most of the lake area over the last few years. Blue Tounge hit them really hard last year too, so I haven't been seeing the numbers of deer as in the past. In fact last weekend (opening weekend of modern gun season) I only saw 4 deer that had been harvested. Typically I would have seen at least three times that number on opening weekend of gun season. I know more than that were killed, but I just wasn't seeing the percentage of successful hunters that I would normally see.djcardinal wrote:We saw a few bucks this weekend and man they looked skinny. "Jacob Pyles bagged this 23-pt. monster buck around Blackfish, Jamestown, KY, yesterday, November 12, 2008. He might be looking at a juvenile record? Photo by Shamarie Claiborne. For people who dont know where Blackfish is... Blackfish is the little road running beside Silo Boat Storage, across 127 from Clifty Creek Rd
Re: Welcome kdfwr911
Nice deer, hope he got to spread his genes around before he got bagged. Do you know what it green scored?

Re: Welcome kdfwr911
BTW....your post says he killed it on the 12th, but the post where you asked me that question is time stamped on the 11th. How did you know he was going to kill it? Crystal ball?

E's gotta question
Can i ask KDFWR one of them thar questuins?
My father is basically missing 2 discs from him back and it has been hurting him bad again. (just got back from Elk hunting in Colorado so I am guessing that wore him down if not injured him a bit)
Anyway isn't there some type of permit that allows people that have issues like that and can not walk much to hunt from their ATV? If so what does he need to do to acquire such a permit?
He has had a messed up back since he was 57 and some years are worse than others. This year is really bad and I was hoping to find some way to get him some relief.

Re: E's gotta question
Yes he can get a permit to hunt from an ATV. I'm not exactly sure of all the hoops he will need to jump through to get the permit, but I'm thinking he will only need to get a form from my HQ for his doctor to fill out and sign. Then he mails that back in and they issue him the permit. Call 800-858-1549 and ask for this info and they will take care of you and probably fax any form you need to you.E_HILLMAN wrote:Can i ask KDFWR one of them thar questuins?

Re: Welcome kdfwr911
I just checked the site and apparently he just takes a form to his doctor, the doc fills it in and signs off on it and then Dad would just keep it with him...
