Received this from a friend in Ft Wayne
I suppose this will be the first year that the White House won't have a Christmas tree since the tradition began— it will have a holiday tree instead.

White House Christmas Ornaments
We have a friend at church who is a very talented artist. For several years she,
among others, has painted ornaments to be hung on the various White House
Christmas trees The White House sends out an invitation to send an ornament
and informs the artists of the theme for the year.

She got her letter from the White House recently. It said that they will not be referred
to as Christmas trees this year. The trees will be called HOLIDAY TREES. She was
asked to please not send any ornaments painted with a religious theme.

She was very upset at this development and sent back a reply telling them that
she painted the ornaments for Christmas trees and would not be sending any for
display that left Christ out of Christmas.

I just thought that you should know what the new residents in the White House
plan for the future of America . If you missed President Obama's statement that
"we do not consider ourselves a Christian Nation," this should confirm that he plans
to take us away from our religious foundation as quickly as possible.

Let's keep our country in our prayers . .

If the Obamas had a "holiday tree" in their home prior to living in the White House, then let them continue the traditions they have built with their family. If, however, the Obamas have celebrated Christmas in the past then they should continue to do so.

That email smelled to me. I usually check these out before I get my blood pressure up and "forward to everyone I know".
