It depends. Some of the stuff is old KDFWR equipment that's been replaced and some of it is confiscated property that has been awarded to the KDFWR by the courts.

As far as electronics go most of that kind of stuff is old worn out or outdated office equipment the KDFWR is surplusing out and it may or may not work. So I would stay away from it unless I just wanted it for parts or something and then would bid on it as though it didn't work because it probably won't.

When it comes to vehicles, virtually all of them are old KDFWR vehicles that have been replaced. But bear in mind we don't drive them until they fall totally apart before we surplus them out. That's not to say everything is in perfect working order either. But if something had 125k on it and the tranny went out then they would likely replace the vehicle rather than put a new tranny in it. But many of those trucks get replaced in the 100 - 150k range that are still in pretty decent shape too with the exception of maybe a few dents and dings. If I saw them drive it thru the auction and it didn't have a knock or tranny slipping then I wouldn't care to bid on it for a work truck or beat around vehicle because you can probably see everything that's wrong with it (dents etc).

Boats and motors could be something we confiscated or could be something we have just worn out. But the smaller outboards like the 9.5 HP's listed is something we just don't have much use for (too small for our use) and is most likely something that has been confiscated and forfeited by the courts......probably from illegal musseling cases in far western KY. Larger outboards like 150's I'd probably stay away from because if they were ours we have probably blown them up or worn them out and if they were confiscated we would have used them ourselves if they had been any good. Not to say they wouldn't be good for parts or lower units or rebuilding etc but I'd bid on them strictly as a parts motor and not something I was planning on mounting on a boat and using without being prepared to rebuild it first.

Guns, fishing equipment, tree stands and that kind of stuff has probably nearly all been confiscated and forfeited to KDFWR thru the courts and you will usually see a lot of fine hunting rifles and shotguns and other hunting equipment sold through our auctions. as far as bushogs and tractors that's probably stuff our wildlife division has used on our wildlife mamagement areas and have replaced for one reason or another. Can't say what kind of shape any of that stuff might be in though.
