A man who climbed Everest found the body of his friend who had died hours after conquering the summit only months before.

Rodney Hogg saw the body of his climbing friend Peter Kinloch on a ledge 1,000 ft below the peak as he neared the top of the mountain.

Mr Kinloch, 28, had been attempting the Seven Summits Challenge last year, in which climbers attempt to conquer the highest peak of each continent.

A 65 year old Kentuckian, Martin Douthitt of Jackson in Breathitt County, is in training and will attempt Everest soon.
He has climbed 6 of the 7 Seven Summits Challenge.

"I think that if I can get up, I would be the oldest American by three years to have climbed Everest," Douthitt says. "But I don't care where I fit in as far as age. Just getting up would be the important thing."

Frankly, he is a friend of mine and I'm a little worried for him, but I wouldn't try to stop him. Its what he lives for.
