C'mon..... 2012? I get so sick of hearing about jobs being opened up but it's going to be in 2-3 years, and sometimes longer. Then when you get down to the nut crackin, you find out that it depends on whether the FEDS will cough up 2 or 3 billion in low cost loans or grants. I am sure GM is expecting some "forgiveness" on their bailout loan if they make this go. Dirty Bastards L-) L-) (I'm just getting sick of being taken for an idiot! X( )

They will add 245 jobs there but will most likely get rid of the 800 people still at the previous Saturn plant in Spring Hill, TN where they make the small blocks (4 cylinders) now. Thousands of jobs were lost when they quit making Saturns then GM Traverses and now engines.

Penske had pen in hand in the Saturn offices at Spring Hill when he received a phone call. When he hung up the deal was off. Or so the story goes from a reliable source. Who the call came from is a mystery.

GM did not deal and Penske had a tenative deal with them.. Then GM backed out on it.

My guess is they did not want real competition and knew the govt. $ would take care of it.
