Arrest of Russell Springs Man, Recovery of $200K Stolen Prop

A multi-agency investigation in Kentucky and Tennessee has resulted in the arrest of a Russell Springs man and the recovery of some $200,000 worth of stolen property. State Police tell WJRS NEWS a three month investigation culminated Thursday afternoon at a residence at 976 Rooks Denton Road in Adair County. That’s where police say they recovered $200,000 worth of stolen property including tractors, trailers, construction equipment and an undisclosed amount of cash. Arrested and charged in connection with this investigation was 45 year old Stephen Rooks of Russell Springs. According to police reports, Rooks is charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over $10,000 and seven counts of Felony Obscuring the Identity of a Machine. Rooks was lodged in the Adair County Jail. Taking part in the investigation were state police officers from Post #15 Columbia, Drug Enforcement Special Investigation Western Unit and KSP Special Operations K-9. Other agencies involved with this investigation were the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations, Sumner and Cheatham County, TN Sheriff’s Departments and the Hendersonville, TN Police Department.
