My daughter, next generation REDNECK, has fallen head over heels with a friends 97 Ram 1500 SLT Laramie w/360ci 4wd. 120,000 miles. One of them there purty trucks...red, king cab, Centerline wheels, new 32x11.50 tires, one owner, garage kept and slick all over. Question? Good, bad, or OK trucks? Is 5k cash a good price (a little higher than Kelley blue book private sale)? Mr.E, has your Mopar faired well?

Denmark, my son and I both have Dodge trucks, both 97s. (same style as 99) Mine is a 318 with 245,000 miles on it. My sons was a 360 engine. Just want to say the 360 isn't a gas sipper by no means! They are nice trucks IMO. The brakes could be a little better for the weight of the truck. My son now has a 2006 with the Hemi.
Five grand isn't bad for the truck if it is in that good of shape. Hope this helps.

The 360 can get decent economy if you stay off the pedal. thus far all my dodges have done great with the exception of a1995 bought in 94 that was a auto. My current truck is my first auto Dodge since. I love the manual shift ones but auto was never a strong point with dodge. If cared for and the oil is changed the 360 should get plenty of miles...
With a 4x4 price is always a little higher anymore.
With the bigger tires I suuure would check those front axle bearings etc.
Of course the 99 was the last gas I owned. I had the 02 diesel and now the one I bought new in 07. If give all my vehicles 9 kinds of hell when I am driving and these last 3 have held up really good. I miss the 02 2500 the most. (aside from my 67 Chevy 10 )

Adjust her throttle where she can only go half throttle.... lol It will still go interstate speeds with ease and be able to pass people.
Like I said...
Front wheel bearings (on any vehicle with oversized wheels)
Auto tranny
Thats about the only things I can think up..
