I did this a few weeks ago at a gas station. The bill was $4.06 and I gave the girl $5.06. She looked at me puzzled for a few seconds and pushed the 6 cents back and started to make 'change'. I said NO, just give me a dollar bill back. She looked at me puzzled again. Really, I had to explain to her what my attempt was. Unreal!E_HILLMAN wrote:I do it all the time and in the right stores its way faster than cash. In fact most kids can't count change back. Especially if the bill is something like $4.23 and you give the 5.03 lol
Yes you are missing that with a debit card most places now do not require a signature. So anything I think under $15 or something like that they just swipe your card and that is it. No change being made none to be handed back thru the window to fall on the ground. They just hand you your card and receipt back with the bag._____ wrote:I have yet to see a case where the card is faster than cash. Especially at the drive through. You give them the card, they swipe it, it prints out a reciept, they hand it to you to sign, you give it back.................THEN, run the risk of what happened to the guy in this story....... Or, give them cash, they give you change, done. Am I missing something?
Probably. Or, it's just too high tech for the employees.E_HILLMAN wrote:Well u guys still have dial up...
That aint nothing last Saturday on my way o the lake I stopped at a little store in Russell Springs. After making a little purchase I gave the girl my credit card to pay. She then swiped it but it did not work after two tries she takes a plastic bag sticks my card it the bag then swipes it and it works. I aint never seen no $h1t like that._____ wrote:Must be a Lexington thing. Us hicks here is Shelbyville aren't that sophisticated.
They swipe it....give it back to you.....Oh wait it didn't take, I need your card again....That sort of thing.
Now that is a first. I'll have to remember that in case I'm short on cash.crwky wrote:That aint nothing last Saturday on my way o the lake I stopped at a little store in Russell Springs.
