Funny, they don't mention if the other guy should have been ejected for the knee to the head nor the punch that was thrown and just didn't connect. I wonder if it is true about what Cal said to Delk.. Yeesh that is a little heated

CBS announcers stand by ejection comments
By Jerry Tipton / jtipton@herald-leader.com
With CBS announcers continuing to say DeMarcus Cousins should have been ejected from Kentucky's game against Louisville on Saturday, UK Coach John Calipari expressed surprise that the incident caused an uproar.

"It was scrum," Calipari said of the fight for a loose ball that included Cousins delivering a forearm into the neck of U of L's Jared Swopshire.

After noting that Cousins reacted to getting hit in the head by Swopshire's knee, Calipari said, "It was not like a catch it at the top of the key and throw an elbow. I'm surprised it all jumped out."

During halftime, CBS announcers Tim Brando and Seth Davis stationed in New York said Cousins' actions merited an ejection and automatic suspension from Kentucky's next game.

Brando and Davis stood by those comments when contacted yesterday.
Read the rest at the link above its a pretty neat read.

It sure looked/sounded like Coach Cal said that to Delk. Fact of the matter is; if the decided to eject Big Cuz then they'd have to eject Delk and Swopshit too. Luckily for UL they didn't. :D

Also, I heard that the U of L players were chanting in the hallway prior to the game starting that "We are bad Mother F@#ckers!" loud enough to be heard in the UK locker room. I am sure that got the UK players wound up a bit more!

It is pretty clear that it was Pitinos mission to get in the head of UK's young team. In the first few seconds it was brewing and Cal took Bledsoe out....Pitino didn't take Delk out even though the refs were suggesting that he do that. Also the NCAA came out today and said that the correct call was made and that neither Cousins or Swoopshire should have been thrown out. Funny how they didn't show the knee to the head or the push in the back that Cousins got on TV. The talking heads were wrong again.
If it were not Pitino's strategy to piss off the UK players he would be talking about it being unfair but he is not. He is actually complementing Wall and UK. Something(and I won't sterotype) that MANY UL fans can't do. They would rather call out all UK fans as racist, cheaters, etc.
I made no comments on this game before or after until this one. Rivalry games are dangerous ground regardless of the spread in talent. I see it from young kids all the way thru the college level. They can go either way.
