I'm sorry but before I even saw the footage I formed a opinion. (AND I HAVE FRIENDS that are officers so its not that I don't like Officers)

1 You don't go to a TEENAGER field party and draw your gun just because some teenage girl is leaving.
2 cars don't build up much speed in fields.
3 when I saw the photo of 4 grouped shots on the windshield that did it for me.

NOW the video is finally out. Clear that the girl was not able to go fast enough to sling anyone up onto a car. CLEAR that he came at the car with his gun drawn already even though they were blinded in his headlights and he could clearly see a frightened girl fleeing. VERY clear he was on the SIDE of the car as they went out of camera view and was immediately firing his weapon.

SUCH BS. (ALL OF THIS IS MY OPINION)

BUT here is the vid, see it for yourself http://launch.newsinc.com/share.html?tr ... d=25880369 <- this link is more complete than youtube embeds below.

I live in Northern Ky so I have heard and seen all of the media reports on this case.

First, she was turning from the field onto pavement (clear on video). Second, she knew he was a police officer and did not comply with his directions. Third, while he was on the side of the car AS SHE WAS TURNING AND SPED UP, it is unclear (off video) if she turned into him (lost control of the car) causing him to end up on top of the car and causing injury to his leg. As far as the "witnesses", they were all underaged kids who were most likely drinking. They haven't released the toxicology report yet, but I would guess she had been drinking, and that is why she sped off (she had a previous DUI, not even legal drinking age).

So, let me ask this question, what if he had not stopped her and she drove down the street caused an accident and killed a family of four? Then would you want to "Fry Him" for not doing his job? He was in an impossible situation, damned if he did, damned if he didn't. Right or wrong, we will never know exactly what happened, or what was going through each of their minds at the time. It was a tragic event that could have been prevented if the youth of the world would just respect authority and use some common sense. These two families will never be the same. :(

Apparently he was to comfortable with using deadly force..i agree with e on the close pattern of shots. Why not shoot out the tires ...im pretty sure that would scare you enuff to stop or at least slow them down to pursue and force them off the road...maybe we should ban alchohol while were trying to ban guns...or come up with a consume carry law for beer...point is the officer had better alternatives then fatal.
