Re: Who do you donate to?
Pretty good if stats are correct. I have always been anti united way since i have noticed how much their overhead had to be. I've heard the same about the red cross.
I used to send to the FOP but the company they use for donations became annoying and I wondered how much of a cut they were getting. So now I only give to local LE funds
My County Volunteer Fire Dept.
FreeMason causes
KY Colonels
Special Olympics on a small small scale to multiple individuals
I try to keep most of mine local and direct to the cause anymore.

Buy American, the job you save just might be your own.

I agree with you E, keep it local. I feel this is the way all tax dollars should be handled as well - if you cannot survive in the desert, you shouldn't be living there. Even cavemen were smart enough to move around...
Seems all of our do-gooders think because food won't grow there, we should supply it...
Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day,
Teach a man to fish, he'll eat for life.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day
