FINES! FINES?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!
I went without health insurance while I was healthy in college and a little after and I saved a lot of money by doing it. I never expected anyone to provide it for me and if something would have popped up I would have delayed doing anything until I could have obtained it or I would have had it done and paid it off as I could. (Paid for a few x-rays on my own in school on a low wage) If I was in a car wreck my car insurance had coverage for medical etc.
Fining someone for choosing to not have insurance would be like giving you a fine for not wearing good shoe insoles to protect your back.. Or a fine for not brushing your teeth.
WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE that don't want to be cared for in a hospital and want to live and die naturally? there are plenty of them out there. What about people is Health Savings Accounts? They don't carry insurance but they have a decent sized HSA....
This can not be allowed! Sure I currently have good health insurance but it should be a choice and for able adults a burden that is on them. I have no problem with extending Medicare etc. for elderly or for having a children's program which I am pretty sure is in KY already).
