Obama's speach, what did you think?

I thought his speach was good, of course with all the fanfare I think it must have been difficult to write and deliver a speech that could ever live up to the hype.

One thing that struck me was the references to not simply change but something along the lines of a complete turn around in our entire country. Obviously all the ills of this country cannot be placed on one man George W. or the others before him, but is something that has been built over many many years. It must be difficult for someone like George W. to listen to that speech and not help but to feel that the person standing there addressing the country is basically saying I am going to fix what 'this guy did'! I am sure that was not the intent of the comments but it can't go unoticed and has to be difficult.
On the other hand George W. may have been sitting there saying 'good luck with that! LOL

Anyway, here we are, with our new President lets hope that this ship can be put on the right path after many years of steering off course.

I thought it was great. Now all he has to do is live up to those words. I have changed my mind about him. I truly think he will do the best he can for this country. Lets hope so. The only complaint I have is I am WAY OVER this race thing. He made referance to it, and that is all I heard since 6am. He got elected because to many African Americans got off their dead arss and voted for him. Thinking that they will get everything given to them. It is very obvious when they interview the blacks on the street. Get over it, he has great things he can do, don't muddy the waters with all this black crap. Let him do the job we hired him for.

Got to listen to most of it on yahoo, I've always applauded his ability to talk a great talk, now show us the walk, if he makes it half way around the block, better than most have done.

Did anyone see the "Obama" flags printed OVER/ON the American flag??? Made in America??? What company would do this??

Didn't see/hear the speech. I was working, working to support all the promises made during the election, and fund those promises with my payroll taxes. I spent two years looking for work, so I am tickled pink to be paying taxes again.

I also agree that it doesn't really matter who is President, the Congress and Senate are the one's to blame for our great situation, but we are the one's who voted them all in.

Nancy Palosi, is a total idiot. They interviewed her on GMA, she stammerd and stutterd, but without hesitation she was able to blame everything on Bush. That women has no clue as to what the real world, and tax payers are doing. FIRE THE BIATCH!!!!!!!!!! I have a dog that is much smarter than her.

I must say though-- this was only the second election that I was eligible to vote in. Eight years ago, I missed the election by a month, and I can honestly say that at that time I really didn't know if I was a Republican or a Democrat. I still wasn't completely convinced 4 years ago when I voted for Bush. Now, I am SURE!!

I'd love to vote for neither if a "other" could win. I hate all of them. His speech was ok if he does good things but the prayer afterwards was a bit less than American or friendly to all Americans...
