What is your take on this?

Post by Jaybird »

This may be a little over the top as I thought the UN agenda was a little less aggressive than this person's interpretation. Could it be that more is being read into it or is it really the true agenda?

Here it comes. The anti-gun agenda.

U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto.

The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.

On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States . The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth?

What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

I'm waiting to see what happens. The actual treaty thus far does not seem to touch on buying Guns within the USA but more of trade between countries. However that is only from snippets I have seen I have NOT seen the full text.

Ain't happening. By the time the gun advocates with some influence reads and interprets this as having any real negative effects within our borders, the revolution wheels start spinning. We ALL know that gun control efforts will be disguised and hidden at best, with word travelling like wildfire. Watchdogs will keep us informed and ready to defeat this crap. That's my take.

I agree with Soak, I think there will be a big revolt if this goes through. But lots of things have happened with this administration that I never thought would occur.

Yep. Gun rights are way more important than any political party. Any attempt to touch them is political suicide. Obama signs, or allows to be signed any type of legislation restricting gun sales/ownership as spelled out above, and every democrat would be screaming for his impeachment with the R's. No one is going to chance having their party made obsolete over gun rights.
At the most, they will continue to chip away at our rights bit by bit, trying to slide stuff by as no big deal, it doesn't really impact anyone but the bad guys type of crap. I could see them trying to reclassify "assault" weapons and high capacity magazines as class 3, and force all transfers to need a tax stamp, but I think even a move like that would be too broad to not be political suicide for whatever party backs it.

By that description
Removable magazine
Shrouding to allow shooter to hold gun with both hands
You two of the items with about 80% of hunting rifles. And MANY people have purchased custom stocks for theirs which I guess now would make their deer rifle a "assault" weapon.

...wonder if a choke on a shotgun counts as a threaded barrell? lol

I think so many of the politicians and the American public are so ignorant about the class and style of guns that if it looks like a "war gun" it must be a "war gun". Pretty good video for the average joe like me.
