Government health care

Post by katie »

On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a
two-page amendment courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn that would require
all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new government-run health
plan. It took me less than a minute to sign up to require our
congressmen and senators to drink at the same trough! Three cheers for
Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana!

Congressman John Fleming (Louisiana physician) has proposed an amendment
that would require congressmen and senators to take the same healthcare
plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are curiously
exempt).

Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and sign
his petition (very simple - just first, last and email). I have
immediately done just that at:

http://fleming.house.gov/index.html.

Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!

If Congress forces this on the American people, the Congressmen should
have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their
families.
:-w :-? :ymapplause: :ymapplause: Go Fleming!
Even a broken clock is right twice a day ;)

Marina/Ramp: Currently mostly out of Jamestown but spend a lot of time at the other Marinas.

Pre2012-Conley Bottom Mostly, Waitsboro, Alligator I&II ramps, Leesford, Pulaski County Park (when it has water), Grider, State Dock (via boat), and Jamestown are a few places you might find me.

2010 is an election year for 1/3 of the senate and all of the house of representatives. It would be nice if congress got the message; the voting taxpayers are in charge now.

Social Security 2009

LET US SHOW OUR LEADERS INWASHINGTON "PEOPLE POWER" AND THE POWER OF THE INTERNET.
PLEASE FORWARD TO ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS.
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE REPUBLICAN ORDEMOCRAT!

KEEP IT GOING!!!!

Propose this in 2009:

S TART A MOVEMENT TO PLACE ALL POLITICIANS ON SOCIAL SECURITY

------------ --------- --------- ----

SOCIAL SECURITY:

(This is worth reading.. It is short and to the point.)

Perhaps we are asking the w ron g questions during election years.

Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it.

You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan.

In more recent years, no congress person has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan

For all practical purposes their plan works like this:

When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die.
Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments. .....

For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7, 800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275, 000.00 during the last years of their lives.
This is calculated on an average life span for each of those Dignitaries.

Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives.

Their cost for this excellent plan to them is $0.00. NADA!!! ZILCH!!!

This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds;

"OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"!

From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into, every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer), We can expect to get an average of
$1,000 per month after retirement.

Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill Bradley's benefits!

Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made.

That change would be to

Jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen . Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us

Then sit back......

And see how fast they would fix it!

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will evolve.

All senior citizens needs to read this since we are getting screwed on our Medicare and Social Security.
Please forward this to all senior citizens in your address book.

Subject: Fw: take from the old : give to our congressmen

I'm not so sure we're not the idiots!! We keep re-electing them!!!!!

Subject: Fw: take from the old : give to our congressmen

Subject: FW: take from the old : give to our congressmen
We need to get the Democrats out of power in the next election or all senior
citizens will be doomed. Wait until Obama gets his Health Care Bill thru
and senior citizens will be put aside to die when they get something wrong with them. Or they will be given instructions on how to end their life.

YOU CAN CHECK THIS OUT ON SNOPES!

Subject: take from the old : give to our congressmen

According to the Trustees for the Social Security Administration,

" THERE WILL NOT BE A COST OF LIVING INCREASE FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS IN SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS. ADDITIONALLY THEY WILL RAISE YOUR CO-PAY FOR YOUR RX MEDICARE BENEFITS " !

They, the Congress ( BOTH " REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRATS TOGETHER ") say no increase is warranted because of the losses in gross national product and other cute things.

NOW HERE SPORTS FANS THIS IS THE ONE THAT WILL FLIP YOU OUT !! --

THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION IS FUNDING TWENTY FOUR MILLION DOLLARS-- LET ME REPEAT THAT AMOUNT... SO YOU UNDERSTAND IT $ 24,000,000.00 DOLLARS FOR NEW ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS PROCESSING FOR OUR CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS !!

THEY ARE OBTAINING THESE FUNDS and I QUOTE DIRECTLY FROM THE SOCIAL SECURITY WEBSITE..............

" THIS MONEY WILL BE COME FROM THE SAVINGS TO BE GENERATED FROM WITHHOLDING " COST OF LIVING INCREASES FOR 2010 & 2011 in SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS FOR THE ELDERLY AND A $2.00 INCREASE ON ALL MEDICARE RX BENEFIT CO-PAY"

Please excuse my FRENCH, But do the words

" BULL $h1t " ring a bell ?

Please pass this to ALL your friends and have them " PROTEST TO THE IDIOTS WE ELECTED TO CONGRESS " who by the way, have just voted themselves ANOTHER 3% SALARY INCREASE !!!

We must put a stop to this outright thievery! It is THE CONGRESS AND THE SENATE, BOTH REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRATS, WE CAN'T FIRE THEM, BUT WE SURE AS HELL CAN NOT RE-ELECT THEM, and WE CAN IMPEACH THEM or DEMAND RECALL ELECTIONS !!!
HOW ABOUT WE ALL GET TOGETHER AND DUMP THESE CLOWNS.
Just watch. They will spend this money and find the software doesn’t work, dump the whole thing and go back to the old steam driven system just like they did with air traffic control several years ago.
Don’t worry though, they’ve got health care all worked out
