Pre2012-Conley Bottom Mostly, Waitsboro, Alligator I&II ramps, Leesford, Pulaski County Park (when it has water), Grider, State Dock (via boat), and Jamestown are a few places you might find me.

Sandhill Crane Hunting Proposal

Dear E,

As you may have recently seen in the February edition of the Commissioner's monthly newsletter, The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is proposing a Sandhill Crane Hunting Season. Many outdoors men and women have asked for years for a Sandhill Crane hunting season. Since this proposal, The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and its nine District Commissioners have received comments voicing their opinion about this hunting season. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife is now trying to collect information on the sportsman's thoughts regarding the Sandhill Crane hunting season.

If you are in favor of or opposed to a Sandhill Crane hunting season, The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife and its Commissioners need to hear from you.

Please mail a letter to the address below or send an e-mail, by clicking act now (below), telling Commissioner Jon Gassett that your thoughts on this additional hunting opportunity.

My guess is that they have been managing them to a point where they COULD finally hunt them.

that is indeed what they do to some degree. It is a odd thing. I am definitely not a sport hunter but without the programs to restore certain wildlife that were over harvested at one point can not get funded. Just like the trout fisheries... If it were not for the fishermen that fish them there would not be any production of them.

I'm not saying that is the case here as that was just a guess.
