'UK at the Half' Highlights HBEER Initiative

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 8, 2012) — David Biagi, professor in the University of Kentucky School Architecture and part of the UK College of Design's HBEER (houseboat to energy efficient residences) http://www.uky.edu/design/index.php/fea ... roject/P10 initiative, was the guest on yesterday's "UK at the Half," which aired during the UK vs. Florida game that was broadcast on radio.
"UK at the Half" airs during halftime of each UK football and basketball game broadcast on radio and is hosted by Carl Nathe of UK Public Relations and Marketing.

- Marina/Ramp: Currently mostly out of Jamestown but spend a lot of time at the other Marinas.
Pre2012-Conley Bottom Mostly, Waitsboro, Alligator I&II ramps, Leesford, Pulaski County Park (when it has water), Grider, State Dock (via boat), and Jamestown are a few places you might find me. - Location: Kentucky (Lake Cumberland)

I can't see where this is marketable... maybe retirement communities? It's ugly, and I don't see a hundred grand being spent on these, incl. lot, by lower income families. This is exactly what it is, a good idea putting skilled workers back to work. I hope it catches on, and we see lots of them in shiny new trailer parks all across the country, lol....

Yep most will just buy a doublewide.

Can't understand why anyone thinks that the houseboat manufacturers will survive if they go into this already saturated (and according to market reports, declining) industy of pre-fab/modular housing. The only reason that we keep seeing publicity on this is because it's supported by Grants (meaning taxpayer money).
The economy will turn around and the Lake level will come back up. The houseboat manufacturer who will build "affordable" and more energy-efficient houseboats will own the market.

Exactly what my first thoughts were on this. Another smoke and mirrors deal with the government passing out our tax dollars!
I have taken the road least traveled................and now I am freakin LOST !
