Marina/Ramp: Currently mostly out of Jamestown but spend a lot of time at the other Marinas.

Pre2012-Conley Bottom Mostly, Waitsboro, Alligator I&II ramps, Leesford, Pulaski County Park (when it has water), Grider, State Dock (via boat), and Jamestown are a few places you might find me.

Harmon Creek vs 76 Falls

Harmon Creek vs 76 Falls
Since the lake draw down, over the years there has been a 76 Falls vs Jacks Branch (aka Harmon) debate. True when the lake was down most of the time the falls were not accessible and much smaller (however still had areas to raft off). The crowd rightly so grew as Harmon but now that the lake is back up there are still rumor Jacks Branch is much larger than the falls etc.

I have compiled some stats below as well as a screenshot of a satellite photo at the same zoom level. Feel free to debate.... lol

THE CURRENT Satellite photos are from the Lake Draw down time hence there may be areas marked that are actually well under water now.

76 Falls Area - https://www.google.com/maps/@36.7827474 ... a=!3m1!1e3
Main Area - 4.591 acres
Total area: 2,626,659.6 ft² (244,024.66 m²)
Total distance: 2.72 mi (4.38 km)

Full Area - 9.18 ACRES
Total area: 4,626,007.95 ft² (429,770.2 m²)
Total distance: 4.31 mi (6.94 km)

Pros - Very Close to full service Marina 2.8 miles)
Grider Hill sometimes provides a band or DJ for the Falls area.
BIG Giant Waterfall
Water has fresh water coming into it pushing all the whiz out...
Safer trip due to not being squeezed at the mouth of Harmon Creek on the main lake.

Cons - Distance from all but one Marina
Other not coming from Grider have to pass thru Grider No Wake Zone
Water can look murky at times (biological from stream runoff sediment and leaves etc.)

Harmon Creek - Jacks Branch - https://www.google.com/maps/place/Harmo ... f146c253ac
Main Area - 2.30 acres
Total area: 1,746,356.73 ft² (162,241.85 m²)
Total distance: 2.01 mi (3.24 km)

Full Area - 6.88 acres
Total area: 3,875,081.74 ft² (360,006.87 m²)
Total distance: 3.19 mi (5.13 km)

Pros - Closer for most marinas
Most thought it was larger but actually the FULL area used for Harmon is not much larger than the main area of 76 Falls and much smaller then the full area available to the Falls.

Cons
Very dangerous entrance into Harmon Creek from main lake and around bend
More open to winds
No water flow so more whiz... lol
Does not have a Marina within 6 miles
