Conley is a really nice place, with the greatest people on the lake willing to do anything they can to help you out. The only complaint I have and it's not really a complaint I just wish all the piers were connected so they'd all have easy access to the store and restrooms. But then we'd probably end up with scooters and cruzin coolers motoring all over the place, one thing I do no like about State Dock. Come on over guys I'm always looking for a good party.

OMG, that place would never be the same with both of us there.

Pre2012-Conley Bottom Mostly, Waitsboro, Alligator I&II ramps, Leesford, Pulaski County Park (when it has water), Grider, State Dock (via boat), and Jamestown are a few places you might find me. - Location: Kentucky (Lake Cumberland)

Re: Thinking of moving to another Marina?
Conley is one of my favorites and more and more becomes my home base when I come to the lake. From there you can go to Leesford for a meal, go up to Burnside and have Papa Johns meet you at the waitsboro courtesy dock for Pizza, have Pizza hut delivered to your boat on the dock at Conley.
You can go east one day and enjoy the beautiful Southfork or the Main River Channel and then come back and the next day go West and be about 4 turns from Harmon creek if you want...
But ummm anyone reading this should know to stay away because the water is actually acid there and it will eat you alive... Yep.. Thats it you ummm can't get in the water anywhere around there because of Sharks and stuff...

I'd hate for them to shut the place down on our account.FasterThanYou wrote:Sell the cruiser, buy a condo at Woodson Bend and a run about._____ wrote:I'm definately moving this yr. Just not sure where yet.

Fair warning! Conley is great but gonna be even greater with me there this year! Changin' your minds, anyone!

Conley Bottom looks well maintained.
Re: Thinking of moving to another Marina?
Wonder how Jamestown will do this year with Cave Springs big discount? Most of Jamestowns Boaters are from out of state. The ride is really not so bad if your not pulling a boat.

I could see people coming from the North East being more likely to go to Cave Springs because the drive would not be much different for those coming down I75 and across 80, but those coming from Indiana and Louisville might not want to make that upside down U.

MY BABY WAS BOTTLE FED, IS YOURS???
Re: Thinking of moving to another Marina?
Mirage said that Cave Springs has been doing alot of improvements.Jamestown and State Dock better watch out with the big discount. If Cave Springs has Cable,Internet and repaired the dock they will fill up fast since everyone is watching pennys.
Re: Thinking of moving to another Marina?
I often wonder why Jamestown is overlooked, one thing I'd like to see addressed there is the water taxi hours. Since my boat is back by the ramp, I can see it from the ramp but the only way to get to it other than water taxi is to walk down the steps by the hotel/shipstore which can be a pain.. but the water taxi drivers have been great at stopping by the slip before they go home to tell us they are leaving for the night. I'm just ready to get back on the water, this cold weather has lasted way too long!

Most or should I say all Marinas promise something that never happens. Im going to find the one that fits all my needs and not just some. This might not even be on Cumberland.
Re: Thinking of moving to another Marina?
I didn't overlook them. They don't have the slip size I need.LC addict wrote:I often wonder why Jamestown is overlooked,
